Every week I will give the children 5 words that they need to creatively use in a short story. We will then look at how differently we’ve each used the words. I will blog the words and some stories to see how creative you can be with the words. We did the story together today- can you write a story with the following 5 words.
We were very excited to come to school in our pyjamas today!
Today we thought about the role bystanders have when someone is being bullied. In Elf owls we know it’s not cool to be a bully but we don’t want to be a bystander either! We’ve decided on 4 tricks to change from being a bystander to an upstanders!
1. If we see someone being bullied we might go up to them and be their friend (bullies don’t expect their victims to have friends).
2. If we see someone being bullied we can go over and interrupt and take the attention away from the bully.
3. Speak out and say hey that’s mean don’t say that!
4. Tell someone!
If we can be an upstanders we can do our bit to stop bullying and be a friend to someone who really needs it.

Today we thought about how we can be kind in school. We each said something kind to one of our friends- it made us smile to hear nice things being said about us. We then made some kindness hands to show different ways we can all be kind!
Today we became song writers and in groups the children each made up their own verse to add to our class song about bullying! I think they did a fab job! And they sang it beautifully.
Today we have been thinking about the phrase “All different, all equal”
We have all made a jigsaw piece to show how we are all different but all equal. Together we fit together and become something amazing!
Wow check out these Elf Owls doing amazingly well at football outside of school!
We’ve come back ready to learn! This morning we’ve been using amazing describing to write our own bonfire shape poems. We’ve been looking for patterns in maths. 90 = 100 – 10, 80 = 100 – 20 ask your child to continue the pattern.
This afternoon the children learnt all about Guy Fawkes and the gun powder plot- why don’t you ask them what they know.
Wow there’s some amazing writing on display on the Key Stage One display board in the street! Well done everybody 😊
Elf owls are amazing artists. They’ve produced some fabulous art work based on Andy Warhol this week!
